I Testify (feat. Zelda Nera)” is a Christmas song that connects the story of Jesus’ birth to a personal testimony of faith. Though I wasn’t there in Bethlehem, I can testify that I know He lives today. Saying He lives in me doesn’t mean he is making my choices, but that He is guiding me as I strive to live with love and service. The Bible makes it clear that we are to be the temple and dwelling place of God. The verse most commonly associated with this idea is Galatians 2:20, where Paul says “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”
I’m so grateful for my dear friends Donita and Zelda joining me in bringing this to life, and for Becky’s beautiful production. Zelda’s voice truly feels like a gift from God, adding so much heart. Enjoy, and please share!
VERSE 1:
I didn’t hear the angels sing
Like shepherds did in days of old
I didn’t see the newborn babe
Or wisemen with their gifts of gold
But I have heard Him whispering
His words of love renew my mind
And I have seen such wondrous things
The grace of God upon my life
I know I feel Him changing me
A truth I can’t deny
CHORUS:
I testify
Christ is alive
I know because Christ is living in me
I testify
Christ is alive
I know because Christ is living in me
VERSE 2:
A lowly birth the Savior had
King Jesus in a stable bed
His Mom and Dad held in their hands
Their newborn who would raise the dead
The power of God within the man
Who gave His life for mine
BRIDGE:
Gloria, Christ is alive
Hallelujah, He is living in me
Gloria, Christ is alive
Hallelujah, He is living in me
