God of Wonders

God of Wonders was born out of quiet moments. Not the loud, dramatic ones, but the kind that gently stop you in your tracks, like a rainbow after a storm or a glowing sunset at the end of a long day. Sometimes it’s just the stillness that settles in when the clouds part and light breaks through. These moments have always stirred something deep in my heart and reminded me of who God is.

As we wrote this song, we wanted to capture that sense of awe. Not awe that overwhelms, but awe that invites us to pause. Awe that draws our hearts toward worship without needing grand explanations. God reveals Himself so often through His creation, and sometimes simply noticing is enough to reorient our souls.

God of Wonders is a song about response. It is not about having everything figured out or feeling perfectly faithful. It is about recognizing God’s presence and choosing worship because of who He is and the love He shows to all. When life feels uncertain, these reminders matter. They help us remember that God is still working, still creating beauty, and still worthy of our trust.

The chorus reflects this simple truth. Worship does not need to be complicated. It can begin with pausing, reflecting, and letting gratitude rise naturally. When we think about the wonders around us and the love behind them, worship becomes the most honest response.

I am deeply grateful to have written this song with Janilynn, whose insight and heart helped shape the message in such a meaningful way. Collaboration is one of the greatest gifts in songwriting, and this song was truly enriched by her thoughtful contributions. I am also thankful for Becky, whose production and vocals brought warmth, clarity, and beauty to the song. Her care and dedication helped the heart of God of Wonders shine through.

My hope is that this song invites you to slow down, even briefly. To notice the small wonders around you. To reflect on God’s love. And to worship Him not because everything is perfect, but because He is faithful, present, and still amazing us every day.

May God of Wonders be a gentle reminder that awe still exists, worship is always within reach, and God’s beauty surrounds us more often than we realize.

God of Wonders
By Suzanne Hodson and Janilynn

Verse 1
Have you ever seen a rainbow
And wondered what promises it holds
On the other side of stormy skies
Is a future full of gold

Pre-Chorus 1
Doesn’t it make you wanna bow in worship
Doesn’t it fill your heart with awe
Seeing brightness breaking through
The clouds as they part
You wanna call out to Him

Chorus
I worship You, Lord for all you’re gonna do
And what you’ve already done
I worship you for your wonders, Lord
You’re my Savior, God’s beloved Son
You are the God of wonders
Your creations make me pause
And think of the love you show to all
So, I worship You, Lord, because
Because you are the God of wonders

Verse 2
Have you ever watched a sunset
And wondered what tomorrow will bring
On the other side of winter
God has promised us the spring

Pre-Chorus 2
Doesn’t it make you wanna dance in glory
Doesn’t it fill your heart with awe
Seeing brightness breaking through
The clouds as they part
You wanna call out to Him

Bridge
You call me Your child
That’s wonderful to me
You sacrificed all
So I could be free
