Found Me in the Storm (feat. Dave Langdon)

I’m so grateful to be part of this beautiful song that reminds us no matter what we’ve done, no matter where we find ourselves in life, the Lord can rescue us, transform us, and bring us to a place of beauty and joy. He deserves all our love and praise. One of the things I’ve loved about being in the Song Chasers community is the opportunity to write with Christian artists. One of the events the community hosts is a “Speed Co-Write” where they use the Zoom feature to split you out into a room with other cowriters and give you a limited time to write as much as you can on a certain assigned topic. The topic assigned to us June 7, 2022 was “Storms.” In the room with Dave Langdon, Charlene Beal, and CJ Marlin (I’d only written with Charlene before) we worked on this idea of being rescued from the storms in our life by Jesus Christ. The song came together beautifully and Dave made an awesome work tape that sounded more like a demo. I loved his voice and asked him if he would be willing to sing on this production. Becky Willard did a fantastic job with the production. I hope the message of this song resonates with you and reminds you of our Savior’s love and saving grace.

Found Me in the Storm

Lyrics

Found Me in the Storm
By Suzanne Hodson, Dave Langdon, Charlene Beal, CJ MarlinI’ve made regrettable choices
For so long, been all about me
Haunted by so many voices of shame
I’ve been tossed in the water
Sinking, can’t seem to breathe
The current’s dragging me under
At the point of my greatest need…

You found me in the storm
When I thought all was lost, You brought me to shore
My life has been transformed
You saved me from the waves, now I’m restored
You found me in the storm
You found me in the storm

Consequences, so painful
Soothed by your healing grace
I am forever grateful
You’ve brought me to this place

My feet are on the ground
Upon Your solid rock I’ve found
Your mercy and your love for me abounds
Through you I’ve overcome
The sin and death you save me from
I’ll praise you all my days, for all You’ve done
